Sandi has been teaching voice, piano, and songwriting for 25 years. With a voice described by the Boston Herald as "gorgeous", Sandi enjoys teaching, performing locally in Massachusetts, and working as Music Director at First Parish Plymouth. Sandi has a BA in music from Earlham College, where she was a merit-based fine arts scholar in music and also the recipient of a Ford Foundation Fellowship in choral conducting. In her early twenties, she sang as a member of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus and the John Oliver Chorale. A grant recipient from the MIT Council for the Arts, Sandi has performed as a vocalist on WGBH radio, both as a classical singer and a jazz artist with the vocal trio ESP, with whom she has also sung at notable clubs such as the Regattabar and the Soho series Out By Ten in New York City. In 1998 she released her debut solo CD, Rubbergirl, and in 2000 she released a track as a singer-songwriter as one of 27 women artists on the all women's compilation CD, RESPOND, which was picked by Columbia Records and raised over $400,000 for an area domestic violence shelter by the same name. Sandi released her second solo CD, This Summer Night, in 2006 at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge. You can hear some of her original music from a live performance here.

In 2013 Sandi founded the Butterfly Women’s Human Rights Choir and in November 2014, Sandi founded the second all-transgender choir in the US and directed the choir for two years; her work with transgender singers was featured in numerous NPR stories, the Associated Press, the Boston Globe and in Oprah Magazine (June 2016), which can be seen below. In October 2015, Sandi and the Butterfly Music Transgender Chorus received the Lavender Rhino Award at the LGBT History Project's HistoryMaker Awards.  Sandi is currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Music Therapy at Lesley University where she studies with Dr. Rebecca Zarate.
